Minimalist Leather Journal
Social Cause: Inspired by Creativum’s travels, this leather journal provides fair jobs to people in rural and marginalized communities in Latin America.
Product Story: This product came to life when the button guy's travels took him to the secluded and vibrant pueblo of Los Guajes in Jalisco, Mexico. There, when the soles of his shoes ripped out, he met the local shoe cobbler, Gustavo. Gustavo was an excellent leather craftsman, but due to the town’s decreasing population, work was scarce. In what felt like an almost insignificant attempt to help, the button guy hired Gustavo to make 2 leather journal bindings. To the surprise of both, that soon turned to 4, 8, 15, 35, . . . 200, . . . 500, . . . 1,000, 1,500 . . .
